So I guess I'll start off with sticking to my title and talk about my moonshell2 previewer again.
I just restarted on working on it since I have most of my horrible school stuff out of the way (still have a 4 page essay though...). Actually yesterday I accidentally left my memory key at school for the better part of 5 hours (and obviously that means that chances are it wouldn't be there). I finally realized this and thought "Oh fuck..." because it had my only copy of the source code for my moonshell2 previewer, stepmania files, anime/game renders, among various other things. So of course I was feeling like a complete idiot for leaving it and I was wondering what I was going to do about the previewer since I probably wouldn't have enough determination to remake it. Luckily enough, I decided to return to school and pray to the powers of luck, human moral (wasn't betting too much on this one), and of course, any other higher power that could have given me better chances. After going to the two people most likely to get lost memory keys, I was feeling pretty dejected, but I went looking around all of the computers, and if I weren't inside, I would shouted about my luck (not bad luck, I was able to find my memory key). So, all is well about my memory key (which means you will all still have to put up with my nub programming skills if you use the moonshell2 previewer xD).
Anyways about the previewer, I thought I was going to spend only a couple minutes looking for a proof of concept that I could put out two different windows (being fairly certain that this was possible) before moving on to working on my 4 page essay. Instead of that plan, I ended up testing out junk for about 4 hours and I haven't gotten anywhere on my paper (meh, it probably isn't that bad of a paper anyways xD). So the current status of the wondrously nub-like previewer is slightly better, with a couple things taking the color from the colortbl.ini (only like 3-4 things as of right now). It has a "colortbl editor" now too, but that isn't anything more than a window with two buttons for choosing colors (not that the colors are linked to anything yet xD). So to match the title of this blog post, I spent roughly 4 hours to make a couple words change color and have a window with two useless buttons xD.
I actually was planning on typing more...but then I went to the amazingly long HGSS thread and entered a chatroom and learned about the web comic "SuperEffective" and it is too amusing, so I'm not going to type anymore xD.
