Dad gets pissed at the most retarded things

So anyway, my dad wanted me to look at this new theater that opened up in our area recently. It's called CHABOD and it's a community theater that's part of an art academy. So, then he asks me to write to the theater for an audition. Just one problem with that: THERE AREN'T ANY AUDITIONS CURRENTLY OPEN. The theater is already putting on two shows and won't be holding auditions again for a while. Dad, of course, freaked out and started yelling about how I never do anything and how I'm going to fail at everything I try, and kept it up until he took a shower.

I mean, geez, it's like taking a resume to a job application that was knowingly fulfilled a month ago. It just doesn't make sense. I told him that I would bookmark the page and contact them when they had open auditions, but he's still raging.

Dad gets pissed at the most retarded things.

No, but he pretty much rant about everything is made in other countries.

The same thing happen with the me buying a R4. It was cheaper foreign, but since he won't buy anything foreign online, I had to get the 8 dollar american one from realhotstuff.

Try not to let it get to you (easier said than done) Telling you, you will fail at everything you try is seriously not cool. How to mess your kid up good and proper. Try to remember that when he says that stuff it says more about his issues than any issues he might claim you have.

^^^^^This :D I don't see how it would be possible to live in a house with things from only one country. Not in western countries anyway.

EDIT: So what is his issue with foreign made things then?

Obvious answer: he was acting. And just trying to SHOW you how much he deserves an audition.

Pretty much. He did try to buy it, but some how our bank wouldn't let us and he started thinking that they have our credit card number, no matter how many times I time him they don't.

Learn to ignore any useless comments. Just treat it as some sort of sound pollution and think of random stuff like what to eat for lunch, what game to play next etc to ignore it. Helps you feel A LOT less frustrated. You'll forget about those comments after a while anyway, so no point in feeling frustrated about it.

So... you shouldn't be on the computer you're using because that's foreign. Just like almost everything in the world.

Because they are foreign of because it's less safe?
If it's the latter then it's quite understandable. My mother thinks that way too.

He's actually said worse. The first time I played tennis with him and wasn't too good he told me I was going to "get obese and die". I honestly think he takes out his gripes with the world using me as a scapegoat. He's a 53 year old bilingual science teacher who was unemployed for nearly four years, until he got a job in manual labor 8 months ago that lasted two weeks until he broke his hand, which has been broken ever since and is STILL recovering, but he seldom rants on that. I really care about him, and he REALLY cares about me, but it's really tough sometimes to see that.
You will get over it quickly, I'm sure.
the problem isn't me getting over it really, I'm already over it right now. But Dad will rant on it the WHOLE day and make us both miserable. That's how he is.

He doesn't like buying from the foreign online store. If it's sold here, than he's all for it.

and i conclude my discussion: your dad is :wtf: = strange

@personuser
You sound tougher than me. That stuff used to really get to me when my mum used to do it. Just make sure you don't try to be the tough guy and let it build up inside you. That stuff can really hurt. Your dad sounds like he could do with someone to talk to. You know, to offload his frustrations in a way that doesn't involve demeaning you.

That does make sense to be fair. You have more rights and an easier time if you buy within your own country if there is a problem. I avoid buying from outside the EU. Not because I'm a xenophobe but because it is easier, no import VAT, quicker, I can usually find a shop that deals in either German or English which makes it easier, and we have standardised laws on selling between EU countries. If I didn't have to pay import VAT I would deffo use that Zhu Zhu place in China. It is the VAT that is the killer for me.

You could've always just written to them. It would've taken you maybe an hour?
