I got a survey from Nintendo a few days ago and it was about their online vouchers and the questions were about the lack of interest. Combined was their assessment that there not able to move their online voucher and their other online only products.

Maybe it is not an outright failure but Nintendo themselves are not seeing what they would like from their online subscription members.

So can you site any sources besides what you're saying is an exclusive and only from what is coming from you? Where did you read that 3rd parties were abandoning it? Microsoft is still on board, last I checked. And Blizzard is, since they have Diablo III on the console. And where can we read about the financial loss due to all of this?

Third party games will not include switch online. Yet one of the most popular indie games, Rocket League has cross platform play requiring switch online sub.

I'm not sure where these comments came from, but I am currently subbed to nintendo online. While it is true that it is not a big improvement to competing systems, it is required to play some popular games online especially if you don't have friends to invite over. That kinda was the base reason to have it.

Cloud save is a must too considering there is no way to backup saves otherwise, I admit that is bad and may help encourage people to subscribe. I also been curious about special offers which I have noticed none of. Besides the NES games, I got a code for splatoon 2 which is a game I do not have. Discounts or free Nintendo switch games like playstation plus or xbox gold would be welcome addition. Honestly there is much to improve, especially the games that make use of online multiplayer.

Unless you really love Splatoon 2, Nintendo online is shit not worth bothering with. I wouldn't call it a failure because as other users have already mentioned, 9.8 million people have signed up to it. I'm not one of them.
