Depression and Worries

Hello and thanks for starting to read this more serious blog. The reason I am writing is because I have a friend who is battling severe depression currently. The worst part about it however, is that she refuses to seek help. I've noticed that she's recently resorted to cutting and does admit to it every time it's brought up. I've noticed she's also been making more suicidal statements recently. I've urged her to go to the guidance counselor because for starters, her Mom quite CLEARLY doesn't care the slightest bit and her brother is telling her to kill herself. However, it doesn't seem like anything can be done about him because he's on the autistic spectrum (Yay corrupt politicians!). I don't know what to do at this point. I'm often getting up in the morning wondering if she's even alive anymore. I promised her I wouldn't say anything to anyone but, I couldn't stand myself if she were to kill herself. I would say that this is also payback for her breaking a promise to me but, that sounds selfish. Anyway, I'd like to hear back from someone soon. I'm hoping to speak to her tomorrow, but the last thing she said to me before we left school on Friday was, "See you on Monday... maybe". Thanks for reading!

I was in a very similar position with one of my friends (I was the one trying to help her) when I was in the ninth grade. Unfortunately, this is sadly common with depressed people (especially if they're introverted). Honestly, you can't get her to do anything unless she wants to get better sadly....

Does she know this? that you Wouldn't, no, Couldn't live with yourself, if she Decided to go with Suicide?

You cant say committed, it's not a crime, almost more than around %98 people who have done suicide, had suffer from a mental illness.

is she "Just" depressed? or is something happening to her?
Try to talk to her about it, if there is.

Well, she's still alive. I don't know if I mentioned it but, she cuts like crazy and it bugs the hell out of me. Honestly, her habits and depression are a big compilation of what I used to be when I was depressed some years ago. It's gone beyond depression and her brother is abusive as hell and her mother won't do anything about it. I will keep you guys updated. I'm getting her to see a guidance counselor tomorrow and I will be in there with her so, maybe things will get better if she visits the guidance counselor regularly.

I totally know what you're going through. It can be tough to know someone who is suffering like that. It's good that she is going to see the counselor with you. You're a good friend.

    Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
