astrangeone's bento counter - two lunches for the price of one!

I ended up creating a semi-homemade pizza today. I ripped cheese slices into pieces, chopped up some broccolli, and chopped up the leftover cucumber from the heart cutouts and layered them onto the pre-baked pizza base along with some turkey pepperoni! Yum! (It made my housemates come out of their rooms, it smelled so good.)

I had half of it for dinner, and two slices went into a simple leftovers bento. It is in the freezer now, because I didn't want to deal with browned peach slices.

BENTO 1:

Minutes to Prep: 20

Carbohydrates: pizza base x 2 slices

Protein: turkey pepperoni (they are spicy!), processed cheese slices

Fruit: two orange slices, half a peach

Veggies: broccolli, cucumber

Other: N/A

Decorative: Two face picks!

BENTO 2:

Leftovers also - my dad had made me a dish of bbq pork and corn. I ate half of it, and turned the rest of it into a bento with some shrimp flavoured noodles. This is also going into the freezer for later, as I have my day off tomorrow, and will probably be nibbling at stuff at home.

I envy your patience. I usually turn all my leftovers into a sandwich for work/school, eat half of them in the sandwich-making process, take the sandwich with me and then eat it half an hour in (because I can't resist readily available food. Also, I get bored).

I avoid this temptation by freezing the entire bento after prepping it. (I don't prep them in the mornings (like most people who bento), but I do so at night, with dinner.) It makes a mess - I just had to rinse out my bookbag because most of the fruit disintegrated into a mess.)

It enables me to last 'til lunch with good food. :D
