Liberal America

What's happened to Liberal America? More people are voting Republican, yet all they get is anti-abortion, anti-gay bills. No jobs. I can't understand the South, most of them are poor but they hate government, yet they love Social Security and Food Stamps. Why are people so stupid?

Not the point.

Is the point about how you can't understand people are voting for the political Right?

No, it's how I can't understand why poor people vote for the right, and openly hate the same programs that help them and that they use. But to be fair the answer to that is Fox News.

It's pretty stereotypical to assume all lower class people vote Republican.

Some people take moral values over economic ones. They may be in a shit situation that they would want liberal welfare for but they certainly don't want gays to marry.

By the way, "ultraliberals" are just as bad as "neoconservatives"

Great religion will feed them when they are hungry so no food stamps, and I'm sure when they old or sick religion will take care of them.Guild, no they are not. It's not sterotypical almost all lower class people in the South vote Republican.

Because religion has definitely never offered charities, fundraisers, homeless shelters, and about a thousand other religiously based charities dedicated to helping the less fortunate.

And what I'm saying is that people would rather stick to their moral principles than sacrifice them for a couple of food stamps. On the flip side, if a new president was up for election who could help support the poor and bring financial stability but was pro-life and opposed gay marriage, would you vote for him if you were in an economic shithole?

No, because that is impossible.

Then you're spewing absolute bullshit and have no clue what you're talking about if you can't even comprehend a basic "what if" game. It is possible. Not all Republicans are defined by their moral views, what if the same applied to Democrats?

Because for the pass 15 years Republicans have been anti-tax, and only believe in cutting social programs, so I am voting for my interest unlike those idiots the current republicans want to destory medicare and medicaid. And believe in cutting FAFSA. So how the hell would I go to college. Don't spew your fantasy garbage here. I'm talking about reality what you say won't happen for another 15-20 years at best.

I'm talking what ifs. You can play that game.

Fine, a DEMOCRAT who is OPPOSED TO GAY MARRIAGE and wants to BAN ABORTION runs for president. The current president is a Republican who supported gay marriage and is pro-choice. We're in pretty rough economic waters because of this president. Would you vote for the Democrat, who could save this country economically but not abide by your morals, or vote for the Republican (or Independent or whatever magical political party you want to make up) who upholds your morals but not your wallet.

Play the damn game or don't even bother trying to act liberal on me.

First off that democrat wouldn't win the primary.Second that Republican never wouldn't have been elected. Third what are his other stances if the democrat is like the current republican party I would vote for my social and economic interests in the Republican.

The Democrat has all the moral views of a typical Republican and the Repulican has all the moral views of a typical Democrat. Their economic views pertain to their parties though.

So answer the question.

This doesn't make any sense though what policies ruined the economy??? You never mentioned that.

IT DOESN'T MATTER. IT'S A THEORETICAL.

The Republican president has the same moral views as you but has pulled shit economic policies. It doesn't matter what they are, but they're shit and the nation as an economy is shit. The Democrat is the complete opposite of you morally but has the correct plan for saving the nation and making sure you don't fall deeper into poverty.

Stop beating around the bush and answer the question.

Because people are listening to Faux News and Rush Failbaugh, and are brainwashed by the dangerous idealogy they sprew out.
I'm not, you give shitty theoretical, I'd vote Independent.
My theoretical is flawless, you're just obviously avoiding it because you would probably never compromise your moral values in the face of poverty but criticize others who are doing just that. Some people find their beliefs to be worth more than any material possession. Maybe those beliefs aren't yours but that certainly doesn't mean they're right or wrong, it just means that they're not yours.

You're honestly being as closed minded and discriminatory as Republicans are, but since your opinions are "morally right" you're exempt from the same situations as them.

I don't consider myself politically affiliated but I support a lot of "liberal morals", but people like you are the reason I would never find myself saying I'm a Democrat.
