I dont know if this will help but I renamed the file to progress.sav you need to turn on see extensions in windows it will ask you if you want to rename this file say yes when you place it into the folders it should ask you to rplace file

00 00 7A 44 / 1000 stamina (1 wheel)

so I'm also eexperiencing the issue where if I try overwriting an old save file and then loading the new one....
1) if I try saving the file in game, it will spin ad infinitum and never save and the game freezes
2) If I ttry going back to the old save file I had beforer, it will continue to behave in the same way.
