What’s the deal with the region on the switch console? And should u just stick to playing ur region xci or nsp files ?

I believe that some game updates and DLC are region specific.

i'm new to this, but i'm sticking to me region or the region free ones. Someone more knowledgeable could elaborate if there are any risk by running EU or JP region games from my US console.
