Why do people still ask why something is discontinued? Let's see...for the same reason you can't draw the mouse, make copies of your VHS movies, or stream movies before they reach the theater. Because it is the same as breaking into someone's car, mugging defenseless woman, and threatening someone menacingly with a crowbar. If you cross the big N you'll be swimming with the fishes!

The reddit 'fix' shows up as a Trojan:Win32/Bluteal.B!rfn.

I wouldn't use it unless they make their new launcher open source and I can compile it myself.

It continues to function for most people if it was already installed before being discontinued, but you won't be able to migrate or reinstall it.

There are plenty of other options, including the workaround on Reddit, so no need to freak out, guys. The party ain't over yet, but I'd advise to start getting what you need.

I WAS ABLE to migrate my installation to my other computer so that is very possible.

The source is on github.

Has anyone been able to get the fix to work?

Running the USBHelperLauncher.exe fails and running it from the updater.exe results in no new titles/updates being shown.

I'm most interested in getting new updates.

I got it running using the link I have referred to in the post above.

Wow, what? I was not aware this happened.

Luckily mine still works and I had the idea to start downloading everything available on the eShop to prepare for the day when Nintendo shuts down the Wii U servers. Not done yet, but just about half finished.

Not sure yet, was busy and haven't gotten around to finishing the downloading. So far as exceeded 750GBs, I think it will max out at around 1.5TB or so.

Specifically, I am downloading the entire contents of the NTSC WiiU eShop. Games, apps, updates.
