Hardware WiiKey2 + Wii-Clip Help?

Okay, here's what's been going on. I have just received my WiiKey2 soldered onto a V3C Wii-Clip. I notice that the WiiKey is only soldered onto the actual clip in 5 spots (I assume this may be the problem.). However, I have a D1A drive (even though Nintendo didn't change the serial when replacing the drive

) and all I get is a magical red LED whenever I plug the clip onto the drive board.

The disc drive won't accept anything either, it completely knocks it out whenever the clip is on.

Should all 9 wires be soldered onto the clip even though it's not on the actual board? If so, I can get the extra 4 wires soldered on. I just need some confirmation before I go out melting alloy on my modchip.

I will try to post some pictures later next time I hook up the ol' iPhone to my laptop.

Upon looking at the wiikey 2 install guide:

5 WIRES OR 9 WIRES?
For DMS/D2A/D2B drive chipset installations, use 5 wires. For D2C, D2C2 and D2E,
use 9 wires!

EDIT: And I think you are reading the top of the wrong chip. What is written on top of the smaller chip next to the D1A?

Haha, wow. I feel very much like a noob right now.

The smaller chip which the clip goes onto is a GC2-D2C.

Exactly what points go to where on the clip though? That's my main concern right now, I can't find a guide anywhere. @_@

The 3.3v, GND and A-G should be soldered between the clip and the chip. (According to the the wiikey2 install guide I linked above.)

Well here's how it is now:

(Chip > Clip)

A > J
B > H
C > G

D, E, F, and G on the WiiKey itself are open.
D, E, F, and C re open on the clip.

Should I do D>D, E>E, F>F, and G>C?

F - D
G - C

EDIT: I am comparing the wiikey2(your chip) install guide with the D2Pro9(the clip you have was made for this chip) install guide.

I just spent hours figuring this out...

gc2-dms
Wiikey v2 pre-installed on a v14 clip.

voltage, ground, A,B,C,G already soldered.

Had the drive won't take any discs problem.... I cut the solder off of the G point with a razor and it works now
