Hardware Wii Remote

Is this just me or does everyone have to keep reconnecting the second player controller everytime you start a new game or even turn on the wii? Is there a way for the wii to just remember there are two controllers?

I think it's just you. The wii always remembers all 3 of my wiimotes, and even knows which one is which when the system is turned on. When I turn on the system with the 3rd remote, the 3rd light lights up.
