... plugin in a usb when the switch is off power the switch on.
This is easier then alway trying to press vol+ and power since you can just use one hand to hold vol + down while your other hand just plugs in the usb cable.

Actually remember you need to hold power and volume + when u insert the usbc cable
you dont. the switch boots into rcm without the usb cable -> screen stays black, And like mentioned above if you insert a usb cable anyways you dont need to press power at all.

Stop confusing the issue. The problem is most likely that the OP's jig is not grounding pin 10. The OP is doing the button combo fine. It's not difficult to hold vol + when powering on.

Also, Xellos is incorrect. No need to hold power when inserting a cable. Connecting the Switch to power turns it on. With an SX Pro you would still need to press power though.

I had an issue like this, don't put the jig in all the way, leave like a tiny bit of space. I make the space about the side of the side of an SD card. :P

I for my part am not confusing the issue. Just pointing out that you don't need to press the power button at all if you pluigin a USB cable. In this scenario holding power too is a useless step since the action of pluging in a cable that is under current acts as a power button.

A slight arc upward might be required like mine.

Also, it looks like the paperclip ends of the jig need to be bent slightly outwards. It looks like it might be touch pins 9 and 2.

That's a shit jig. It just uses a paper clip. The clip is totally flat. It should slightly arc up like mine. You could try adjusting or use a wire to ground pin 10 to the middle screw of the joy con rail.
It arcing up or not isn't really important both the sx pro jig and another premade jig, and one I made myself aren't arched up but still work ..

That on the other hand is valid concern. Wasn't sure if its just the resolution that made it seem slightly off place

For example, HOW is is risky to get banned if you extract the save files to the CFW?
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
isn't this proccess be done while you're offline?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
We are not Nintendo, so we don't know exactly how/why/when they ban, but better to stay on the safe side and not do shady stuff, if you don't want to be banned. Hayato is one of the most knowledgeable ones here on the subject and I believe what he says.

    300 bucks hmmm lol
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Yes ofc we don't know how Nintendo bans work, but if there are situations where a lot of people have tried safely then we can at least assume that this path is pretty much safe. To say don't try anything homebrew relative just to be safe forever is the easiest thing to say to someone. What I am trying to figure out here is with which cases and what actions got most of the people their bans for.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Most things I can find resulting to a ban is save-editing reasons, like Pokehex, etc, and going online afterwards.
