Gaming Where can I buy legit copies of DS Pokemon games?

I want a legit copy of Diamond or Platinum. So many fakes on ebay, though. So so so many.

Anyone have suggestions on how I can escape that flood of fake cartridges?

Local brick and mortar store and check the cart thoroughly before buying usually buying boxed copies makes fakes a bit easier to detect as boat fakes are unboxed or have crappy quality boxes

And if you do buy online and receive a fake be sure to report the seller and return the item although I suggest sticking to local stores so you can inspect first

Yeah I guess the problem is people want the super cheap prices eBay or online stores offer but expect the real deal in return

A DS flashcart is a good way to avoid fake cartridges.

Lots of second hand stores are flooded with fakes, but at least you get to inspect it before buying (unless you buy via the website)

Wish I could. Only two stores here. 1 and 2. When I checked 2 years ago, neither sold anything older than BW2. Now, neither sells anything older than X/Y.

Local game stores where they allow you to test the game. Yes you pay more for the game, but you are paying with ease of mind that your game will be legit.

i have two legit Diamond's too. i need the GBA games.

Get used to spotting fakes and get them from eBay. If you do end up with a fake - return it under eBay's buyer protection. If you have a CFW 3DS you can use TWLSavetool to 100% verify your game. If you can read the save and write it back, it's legit.

You could also look for EU(UK) versions as the majority of fakes were aimed at the US market.

I've just about finished collecting the whole main series from Gen III up (only, White, Diamond and Alpha Sapphire to go) and haven't been stung by a single fake yet.

Yeah I ended up buying an AUS version, since I've yet to find any evidence of fake AUS versions existing.
