ROM Hack What is a simple way to convert a retail 3ds into a functional Dev Kit ( for my Dev tools)

I have tried several ways to turn my 2ds into a Dev unit but no tutorials has worked so far. Can someone give me a simple tutorial with download links (because in other tutorials there were broken download links). I don't want to spend money on a Dev Unit from Nintendo (I already have homebrew) when I might be able to use my retail 2ds.

    Or most surround sound receivers are 3 HDMI in, one HDMI out to tv, and you can select which hdmi in
    you want on the receiver.
