Homebrew what emulator on the 3ds can run mario rpg fullspeed with no lag?

I got a mario rpg vc in the iso site and the occasional framerate dips annoy me. Is there an emulator that can run it without framerate dips?

I suposse you have an OLD 3DS. Then, obviously any SNES VC rom will run slowly (that kind of VC games were designed only for NEW models).

In change, I recommend you to use the SNES9x Emulator (by bubble2k). It runs pretty well on OLD

If you have an old 3ds, the answer is no. The best you'll get is from the above comment's recommendation of SNES9x O3DS. Youll have occasional frame drops but its a playable experience.

Okay, try this.

1. Go to Luma3DS Configuration by holding (Select) when first turning on the 3DS.
2. For the New 3DS CPU, select the Clock+L2(x) option.
   
3. Press (Start) to boot into HOME Menu. Go into Rosalina menu by pressing (L-shoulder + down dpad + Select).
4. In New 3DS Menu... , make sure you see Enable L2 cache and Set clock rate to 804MHz.
5. Press (B) to go back and go to Miscellaneous options... You'll want to Save settings. This does nothing.
6. Last but not least, you may want to use the smallest sized micro SD card you have available for reduced I/O lag. The original 4 GB Lexar micro SD card that came with the n3DSXL would be perfect for the job.

bubble2k snes9x. It works perfectly.

i recommend this too. it works well regardless of model.

I tried Mario RPG in .cia form. The one I found uses bubble2k's snes9x emulator..an older one. It ran fullspeed, but It's best to use the latest standalone version and load your snes games that way.

Heh, interesting timing, as I was testing Mario RPG with bubble2k's SNES 9x on my console (old 3DS, see signature) hours ago. As said before, it was playable, but had framedrops mostly on cutscenes, and that can be a bit annoying.

Your last option is to play the game on desktop snes9x emulator and then upstream the video back to the n3DSXL using PinBox.

You may need a pair of bluetooth headphones to hear audio from your computer.

SMRPG is supposed to require the SA1 chip. I'm surprised it works at all in VC.

Because you didn't specify and the majority of 3ds owners have old-type models?

I saw the VC mentioned once or twice. Mario rpg uses a special chip that's hard to emulate, so it runs slow on emulators and doesn't work on the snes VC.

Because there's such a thing as SNES Virtual Console for Old 3DS.

If you're downloading a custom SNES VC pulled from that iso site, there's reasonable suspicion your Mario RPG isn't using the real Nintendo SNES VC container.

I've seen some interesting things during my eight years here. The onus is on you to provide specifications when making an assistance thread, not to criticize those who know more than you when you fail to do so. Provide more information next time in order to get more relevant responses. For example, you failed to specify whether your VC is running official software or is an inject, what type of inject (if it is), and so on. See? That's common sense, after all
