And that is also the reason why naehrwert made his hekate repo private and now it is not available to us anymore.
WELL DONE!
The dev in question foolishly associated his real name with hacking. Bad idea. He's a diva and he's naive. I don't care if the truth hurts.
Also, Nintendo sees no difference between hacking and piracy. He's been on their sh*tlist for weeks. Once again, the dev is naive and foolisly believes he had any positive rep with Big N or the industry. On the other hand, Nintendo has hired devs in the past, so skills can trump rep.
Furthermore, enabling emulation directly competes with their virtual console sales and also directly promotes pirating their IP. Emulators need roms and it's disingenuous to say that people use Switch emulators with legitimate backups. Those are stolen downloads.
He got sensitive and pulled his code. Fair enough. It won't stop anything.
His public tantrum (and the way he edited his post) also damaged his rep. I wouldn't hire him. I don't need any "help" from people that air their grievances with hot takes on a public message board. That's not professional.
He shouldn't be cracking under his real name and he should have handled going private quietly.
Nobody really feels bad about it.
The truth is "disrespectful"? Maybe, but I'm right.
