Hey there, newbie here.

A friend of mine gave me his Wii before moving away and told me it was modded, but that he was keeping the SD card, as he was using it for other purposes.

My main goal is to be able to run Kirby's Return to Dreamland successfully and it is giving me some issues.

I'm using USB Loader GX V3 249 All in one, which is the only app/software that I have personally installed. My SD card basically only has the app and wad folder with the contents of that app.

I'm not sure if I need to be installing any other ios/cios or what, he literally handed me the wii and said "Good luck, have fun!"

Here's my syscheck:

Code:
SysCheck v2.3.0 HacksDen Edition by JoostinOnline, Double_A, R2-D2199, and Nano
...runs on IOS61 (rev 5405).

If you need any other info, I can provide it, just ask. My son really loves Kirby and it was demoralizing seeing the menu screen with the updated cover with Kirby on it, seeing his excitement, and then getting a black screen with no idea how to fix it. I appreciate any assistance!

What you want to do is install a different version of your cIOS, specifically cIOS249. However, there are several issues I'm seeing in your sysCheck that could pose potential roadblocks for the easy ways to accomplish this (e.g. you're missing IOS58, IOS236, etc.). I suggest you run ModMii and drag your sysCheck into it. It will then download all the necessary files and output easy-to-follow instructions.

Thanks for the quick reply!

It seems as if the modmii website is down (http://modmii.zzl.org/)

Do you know if it is updated and hosted elsewhere? I found version 6.3.1 on http://code.google.com/p/modmii/downloads/list but I'm not sure if that's the most updated version.

Alright! The game launches just fine. Appreciate your help.

One little thing: When first turning on the Wii, it brings me to the menu where I can only controll it with the power/reset buttons (or apparently, a Gamecube controller, which I don't own yet). Is that menu Bootmii or what? Is there a way to disable it on start up?

On your SD card, change the name of your "bootmii" folder to something else, like "bootmii backup"
That will prevent bootmii from launching each time you power on the Wii.

Thank you very much. Everything is in working order now!
