I want to update the sysNAND on my Switch to the latest version without burning any fuses or updating the game cartridge slot firmware. Just for the one in a million chance that I decide to desolder the modchip and downgrade to a lower firmware version. Is this possible?

You can boot Sysnand with Hekate/Atmosphere. This combo is, by itself, not a bannable offense…lots of people run this way without being banned. Just don’t do any piracy or cheating and you should be fine.

Hekate bypasses the fuse checking/burning algorithm altogether. Keep Hekate in your boot process and you will never worry about fuses again.

Hekate also dIsabel’s the game card so it won’t update its firmware.
Here is an example with autonogc in Hekate:

Atmosphere can block the game card from starting using the nogc option which does a similar thing.

nogc configuration has been moved to /atmosphere/config/stratosphere.ini.
