First of all guys, this method was confirmed to be working but ONLY on games that were made before 2010 (it has something to do with the licenses).
That's why it didn't work for you Undi.
Also, you'll NOT be banned for using this. Sony bans only when they detect a Custom Firmware.

How do you know they cant detect this or what sony would ban for?

Trust me Sony can tell if you're using this hack. First of all they can easily compare against all all accounts associated with that device to find out if the games were purchased or not. Also note this method works but literally only with games that have an update available and we're produced early in the systems life as the licensing bug hadn't been fixed yet. If you get OFW to load homebrew let me know. Although with the current exploit it isn't too tough to do but without a PS3 that doesn't support CFW I lack both interest and the equipment to do it myself. (Though obviously I could revert my current console to OFW for testing again lack of interest...)
