Why don't you go into a second hand gaming store like CEX in the UK. Buy the Switch game you want to update in the official firmware then return the game back within 2 days or whatever the return policy is. You could run the original game aswell if it makes a difference until you return it.
Then you fuck the next poor sod who goes online with that cart .

An update, I'm still not banned and I just updated 5 more games on Tuesday. Still playing them offline and on SX OS. Like I said before, I know the ban hammer is coming but for now it hasn't. Still playing fortnite online with OFW. I'm still using that same method as the op. I'll update if I do get ban and just use my other switch for online if I have to.

Does anyone know if the downloaded update data is shareable? I assume that it's not, that it's encrypted using the device id. Just curious. If it isn't, couldn't folks simply share the update data that gets stored for the given title in the Nintendo directory on the SD?

For now I am using the method from the OP and everything is fine. Understood per many folks here that I should expect to be banned, but my take is the following-- I might as well install updates for all of my favorite games while I can, since if they do in fact start stopping users from updating titles after a ban, and do start banning folks for doing so it will take some time before the scene develops alternative solutions.

Worth mentioning also that this is separate Switch I purchased just for this purpose, so I'm fine with a ban if it happens.

Yes there is a way. I'm too lazy to bring it up now because I'm on my phone but there's a tutorial titled how to dump titles. If you can find the leaked DevMenu, you can use it to install those updates

Updating backup games on OFW without ban for now? is it more safe to clean up the error logs before upgrading??

I comment because I want to update my games.

Ive been updating my games like this since SXOS got released. Still not banned yet. It might happen eventually but if i honest i couldn't really care less if it does. Them banning people for the carts individual cert is quite stupid from them really and will come back to bite them on the ass cos people who havent hack there console run the risk of getting banned just because they bought a 2nd hand game that someone has dumped then sold on.

Hi all,
I have the latest version of SX OS and am running DOOM fine, it's the XCI version. I would like to update the game so that I can use aiming with the joycons but what is the best way to do this?

Many thanks,
M

If you used the XCI you could do it while going online in your stock firmware, head to the game, press PLUS and update the game. However this might lead to a ban.
The safer way would be to obtain the update for the game with something like CDNSP and install it either with SX OS's NSP installer or (more recommended) with Tinfoil.
