Hacking Trucha bug

Hi guys.

So well, I've got a problem with this Nintendo Wii. It can't load games using CFG Loader USB. After selecting the game it stucks on a black screen and then a "An error has ocurred" message pops up.

I did a Syscheck and it seems than somehow someone Trucha signed some Stub ioses, like IOS 60, 70...

So, how do I correctly restore those ioses to their original state?

I'd avoid touching the system menu and it's ios if possible, unless you have bootmii as boot2 and a valid backup.

Remember, the Wii only runs 1 title and 1 IOS at any given time, so any incompatibilities between the usb loader and the IOS it runs on (usually 58 or 249), as well as those between your backups and the IOS they run on (usually 249 unless you selected otherwise) cannot have anything to do with your IOS60 unless you (most probably incorrectly) selected that one

I don't want to mess with those Ioses because I know it may brick the console.

Just try ModMii, its 99.99% safe to use (0.01 error chance by user).

What mean "Trucha Bug"? Im sorry for my ignorance. I used syscheck and it present the same "Trucha Bug" message for some IOSes

In short: [the IOS accepts] fake signatures, that are very easy for a computer to make since there is a 1/256 chance it is correct (instead of 10^-128 if the trucha bug is fixed)

Thanks. How this can affect my Wii? Although there is those "truchas" my wii works fine.

If you have a digital title that is fakesigned (signed using that 1/256 method), it can only be installed if the currently running IOS has trucha (note that the later wad managers, like Some Yawmm Mod and Wii Mod Lite, can use AHBPROT to temporarily add trucha to the running IOS, so you don't need prepatched IOSes anymore; however some older homebrews require one, and it's always nice to have one

Same thing for running modified discs if your optical drive is chipped

Sorry for bothering you, but I'm having a little trouble with ModMii.

There are so many options. lol

If I only want to restore the Ioses that I mentioned back to Stub, should I prepare a SD Card checking the "Active IOSs and Patched System IOSs" option only?

Modmii won't help you install stub ios's because frankly it's a pointless and dangerous exercise. I suggest you use modmii's syscheck analyzer and forget your preconceived notions of what an optimal setup looks like and instead trust me and others like me who are vocal in these forums.

If u insist on installing stub ios's, which again I think quite frankly is stupid, you can use modmii's advanced Downloader to do a custom download for the ios u want to stub, when prompted select the latest version for each ios, the latest one will be the stub, and you'll notice it's much smaller than a normal ios. And if u brick by going down this road, well, you've been warned.

Ok. It worked just fine. The problem is... even with a perfect set of IOSs, CFG Loader USB has the same problem. Once I load a game, it freezes for a short while, then continues to a black screen, and then it shows the same "An error has ocurred" screen.

So I just gave up on that and jumped right to setting up a virtual NAND using neek2o. I've been trying to make it work non-stop since my last reply and it seems I can load games from the virtual NAND's Disc Channel with no problems.

So... thank you very much for your time, and everyone who replied to this thread.
