As per the subject,

I would like to downgrade my n3ds. I am looking for the most reliable, safest and most efficient guide to downgrading a n3ds at the moment.

I am thinking of installing RxTools as well as BigBlueMenu since I hear it is one of the best .cia installers
(I would appreciate if someone can link me to the most recent version)

I would like to setup my n3ds to have the capability to boot into either SysNand or EmuNand
(which I believe that option is through RxTools)

Which version of sys updater should I use to update emunand to 9.5 (or higher if possible)

I am going to try and expedite the Hold (L) to boot process with the "menuhax_manager" or whatever the method is called to utilize (L) to boot into RxTools CFW because I hear that the boot rate is not 100% consistent when booting with (L)

Regarding having your SysNand and EmuNand linked/unlinked. Should I keep them linked or unlinked?

For downgrading use safeSysUpdater:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-safesysupdater.409392/

For setting up emuNand, cfw, cold boot and CIA installer, use:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...g-10-4-emunand-coldboot-cia-installer.405589/

EDIT: Ninja'd XD :ph34r::ninja::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

None of those links lists instructions on how to Downgrade a n3ds.
I only see on how to install CFW?
Read the safeSysUpdate thread, it basically consists in downloading the CORRECT downgrade pack corresponding to your console (Old 3ds, new 3ds), verifying the md5 checksum of the files (use any md5 check software), copying the safeSysUpdater 3dsx program and the updates folder from the downgrade pack to your SD card, run the program, check the update integrity (pressing A button i think), if everything is labeled as OK, then press Y to downgrade and pray for it to run whithout crashing.
You will know all of this by reading the threads here on temp, but i guess people don't want to read. How do you think we know the process? it was by reading the related threads, there you get a lot of answers and learn from other people's mistakes :)

i used this guide and it worked for me in 1 try

I successfully downgraded my n3ds thanks to your instructional video @C02!

I am following the continuation of your instructional video that is helping me through the CFW Installation and EmuNand Setup.

I am stuck at the time I have left it at (2m:46s)
These are the steps I am currently stuck at and not able to continue.

ReiNAND UPDATE:
------------------------------------------------
If you want to use the new ReiNand that supports emunand up to 10.3, follow this entire tutorial, then download and replace the files on your SD card with this download:
https://github.com/Reisyukaku/ReiNand...
Also download this firmware.bin and place it on your sd/rei/
(removed)
Open your boot.cfg with notepad, and paste this code over it.
http://pastebin.com/yPjVmuRk

I installed the latest ReiNand v3.1 I followed the firmware.bin instructions and updated the boot.cfg with the new code.

But when I turn on my n3ds and run http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php successfully and it runs "ColdBoot" to then autoboot in 2 secs ReiNand. I get the ReiNand logo for a moment but then receive a black screen and nothing happens. I never ever see the "press start" message?

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
