I have a v1 Switch. For a while, I only used it to play Quest of Dungeons, a light, 2D game.
At one point, I put Better Gaming's 15.0.1 MEGA package onto it. This included Hekate 5.9, but I had already put 6.0 (there is a conflict if I ever turn it off). At which point, I started playing 3d games again (Mario Odyssey, 3d Land + Bowser's Fury).
About a month after installing the MEGA package, my Switch appeared to be draining battery fast. While asleep, it would always go down to exactly 17%. I fix consoles, so I simply replaced the battery and everything worked fine.
About a week later, again the battery appears to be draining quickly. There were a couple times that at about 34%, it would flash the battery icon in the center of the screen and put itself to sleep. I was able to just wake it up and keep playing. There have also been a couple times that the console was said to be at 1% and continued letting me play. Though when it was doing the 1% thing, as soon as I put it to sleep, it will not wake up until I charge it.
I think I can rule out playing more demanding games as I'm getting less than an hour between full charges. So I suspect the fuel gauge IC is bad. Before I alter the hardware though, I wanted to rule out software. So I wanted to ask you guys if the MEGA package is known to be a battery killer, if there's a cleaner alternative, or if it has nothing to do with software? Thank you for your time!
