As reported earlier, Nintendo was working on a Theme Park with Universal Studios. Aptly named Super Nintendo World, the first theme park will be completed by 2020 in Universal Studios Japan, Osaka, just in time for the Olympics held in Tokyo. Similar attractions will be coming later to Hollywood and Orlando in the US.

The news report stated that it will comprise of state-of-the-art ride attractions, interactive area, shops, restaurants, among others. The big N released the image below to accompany the announcement:

It seems like the world of Super Mario will dominate the park but the company also said that it will include “attractions based on many Nintendo titles". More details should emege as we impatiently wait for its opening!

Umm okay, but just going to a theme park won't give you superpowers like that.



You know, there is the gold saucer from final fantasy VII, someone make that a theme park, so i can ride snowboards, feedo moogles, and fight in a battle arena wth a sword and materia.

I must be the only one that prefers all characters & locations remain in-game, not in some 'real' location on earth, to be displayed like some circus clowns to all attendees. Oh well, nobody is forcing me to go there, I guess.

On the surface, it seems like a good marketing move for Nintendo, who is now a distant third in the home console arena.

The less said about the International Olympic Committee, the better.

That said, I think some kind of Metroid inspired laser-tag like attraction could be nice, of course that is just me.

A rollercoaster based on Fzero would be awesome.
