Hey no problem. And yea it was a bit pricey. Hopefully this all pans out decently.
It's pretty at least, didn't know they made glossy slim.
But yea it's the same price of PRO during black Friday while the slim model was $199

Just been into GAME (uk) and they update consoles as they come in to test wifi apparently.
I have a ps4 OG 3.50, but I really wanted to trade up for a PRO with <4.05 FW.
The only bundles they have are with fifa 18, and I assume theyre >4.7x....

Got a Slim CUH-2016A B01Y. Here's some photos of the packaging and the date code:
Date code is 6D, which means according to the psdevwiki that it should have come with 4.01 at most.
BUT the real story is a little different. It had 5.00 on it, which seems pretty much impossible for a new console with that date code. I got it from the German equivalent of Craigslist and it was offered as an untouched Christmas present ("because it was the wrong console") bought in October 2017 (there's a receipt proving that).
My guess is that the console was not as untouched as described... though I can't say if it's the private seller or the vendor who's at fault here.
Nonetheless, I'm still convinced that consoles boxed like mine that are still sealed have a good chance of containing a model with <4.05.

No chance for a PS4 Pro CUH-7016B B01Y to be in <4.05 FW ? No PSVR and HDR logo on it.

there is a chance but only very small
The model alone isnt indication enough!
Also boxes without these stickers have newer firmware
Remember only the very first batch that came out around november 2016 has low firmware.

My guess is 4.70. I have one CUH-7016B B01Y here that turned out to have a 7B date code came with 4.70. I might return it, though. Same box, which seemed pretty good (except the B01Y at the end of the model no.). I expected it to be at least 4.55, so I could let it sit for the next major exploit, but I didn't have any luck there either.
Please add that to the OP.
Now I guess that the older boxes have been used for quite a while, so it's still a gamble if you find those.

Look at the first post...
4.05 released on 25/10/2016...u can't tell what is the fw but from the date range its possible to have < 4.05
U need to venture and buy it...

Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.

I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park

I stream from Nas to firestick, one on every tv, and use Kodi. I'm happy w it, plays everything. (I pirate/torrent shows/movies on pc, and put on nas)

I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
