Successfully hacked my WiiU, but then I got careless and somehow bricked it.

So I had my WiiU hacked and running successfully, and then I decided to burn some of my old GC games to ISO and sideload them using WiiU Helper.

Whilst I was waiting for the games to transfer I was messing with my Wii U Data Management, and I noticed that whenever I went into it, it said something like "there is some data here that you can free up by deleting it" , so I did.

I got called away, and couldnt get back to the WiiU that day, so I switched it all off, and thought I would come back the next day,or later on and insert the SD card and install the games.

However when I next booted it up, the WiiU started throwing out errors like it couldnt read the SD card

"FSGetMount Source failed. Please insert a FAT32 formatted sd card. " and

"Failed to load sd:/wiiu/payload.elf
Starting the consoile without any modifications"

I lost all access to the internet as my wifi stopped working as well. When I ran the wiiuexploit.xyz, it failed with the first error FSGetmount.

To make things worse, I then factory reset it (falmpalms), dont ask me why, it was getting to like 2am, and i wasnt thinking straight.

Anyhow, the console itself still works and plays wiiu and wii discs fine, but I cant seem to load homebrew anymore.

Any help would ge greatly greatly appreciated.

First of all you should format the SD card and put fresh copies of the files back on, or better yet, try another SD card, as it might've just gotten corrupted, or it's failed.

I tried that, I formatted the card, and downloaded the files and tried again, but no luck. I also then borrowed the card from my Wii, which is a tad smaller, only 2GB, and copied, formated, and loaded the files, but that didnt work either. I put that back into my Wii and that can see it fine, and worked.

What I am concerned about is that anonymous data delete I did in the 'data management' section. That unknown data was deleted, and I suspect it was that, or could be that, which has messed things up.

Check the vwii. The sd card icon will be lit, and it makes a sound when you insert it.
Thanks, yeah the card is recognises in the vWii, and it is empty of vWii saves obviously. So what I did was find a 2GB card I had in my old Wii, moved the conents off that, reloaded everything again, and it worked in the sense that the boot error I was seeing stopped.

I will close this post down, and now open up a new one, cause obviously some people, who shall remain nameless, throw hissy fits if someone accidently mentions they have bricked their WiiU.

I made a mistake and was given bad advice during the Tiramisu installation and managed to brick my Wii U but was able to fix it by holding "B" on a Wiimote during bootup (will only work if you had a wiimote set up beforehand) and then going back to Wii U mode. Everything just fixed itself and was able to continue the hacks successfully.

This is a good addition to this post. I found this one while reading about bricking, and I've now filed this info away for a possible future me issue.
