Spoilt by cloud Saves, any way to have checkpoint talk/sync to another 3ds?

I have gotten quite used to having my switch save info being synced across devices depending on where I want to play.
I currently have 2x 3ds Models, a New XL and a New normal. Depending my mood or what Im doing I like to play on either one but I am finding sharing save progress across devices to be a massive pain.

To avoid messing with SD cards I am doing the following

Save Data in Checkpoint on Unit 1
FTP via PC to Unit 2
Checkpoint load data in Unit 2

Its quite a lot of steps. I appreciate nobody is going to host an upload server or anytning but is there a way to get the 2 3DS to just talk to each other without having to fire up a PC to sync my save data?

If it does not exist, would the community consider it a useful idea?

Presumably you are using ftpd for the FTP. But did you know there is also a FTP client? https://github.com/Favna/FTPDB

I don't know how well they work but should allow you to replace PC with second 3DS in step 2.
