Ehhhh.... Sometimes, I'm happy to live in a socialist country.
Last time I checked france wasn't socialist, but I guess you should know...

Last time you checked, didn't France have welfare, nationalized health care, about 20% VAT, unscaled taxes that crush the middle and upper-middle class, and a 35-hour work week?
With nationalized railroads, energy, semi-nationalized telecommunications (at last! only SEMI-nationalized! Someday we won't pay local calls, you'll see!), a government so huge that bureaucracy is not only rampant, but the only way to get anything done here.

Oh yeah, but the only real important thing to check is Chirac's political colour, not everyday life. Yea, we truly are a right-wing country!

Sony sure didn't fail when they injected their product into that South Park episode... but of course I'm just paranoid, they never got paid for makin em say "hey Kenny, cool you got a Sony PSP" I know how rabid you people get defending your favorite show even after it whores itself for a product.

you oughtta see the product placement B.S. Sony does on Japanese TV. I watch about 2hrs. of japanee TV a day on average, and its VERY common in modern dramas and miniseries to see one of the characters playing on a PSP. When you see it in a show once, get ready for a few more flashes before the hour's over, too. Not so much in the jidaigeki though. (jidaigeki are dramas set in the samurai period

Then the commercials come on and theyre all for tiny cars, shampoo, and the NDS.

Sorry, I had no idea that you didn't know what socialism actually is. Unless it means somethinge completely different in french (which I'm eager to hear, if that's the case) you should really read the Wikipedia article about socialism.

Finaly watched the youtube link since my college computers blocks youtube. Holy crap. Really, if it WAS done by a fan and he dropped references to devhook and ISOs then I suppose it COULD be a little more believable... whoops, why are we still discussing this....

If this is the only way we can communicate, then please look at this.

You know I don't know if everything is marketing I mean sometimes I wonder if shows like a product and what to talk about it (Like is South Park) Or if shows try to relate to everyday life and just say "gimme a handheld" For instance Lost had a gameboy and I don't think Nintendo paid them....ironically Lost also messed up saying the Gameboy needed new batteries....House has featured a GBA (with Metroid), A DS (With Metroid Hunters) and now he sports a PSP....I don't think anybody is saying push our product...I think the writers are just trying to use our current culture to fit with the characters story.....Then again I could be a mixture of both....on House the GBA and DS got a small part while the PSP got a whole episode....hmmm anyway a company that makes viral websites is a pretty good idea....too bad they didn't spend the extra 7 dollars a year to block whois LOL

I beg of you, tell me why south park would actually say "Sony PSP" and not parody it AT ALL, not make fun of at least a primary drawback (battery life), blah blah why do I bother
LOL i asked them why they didn't slam the battery life and they said "Cause we are not a bunch of whiny pussies".....they may be on to something. And giving Kenny (The poor kid) a Gold PSP was the parody....they didn't need to bash the system. They didn't bash the Wii either...they bashed the hell outta Warcraft even though everyone said Trey and Matt got paid big bucks from Blizzard from that episode.

There's no such thing as bad advertising

For every Lik Sang Sony closes, there's a random guy surfing the web, who's never heard of LikSang (and not able to care less), reading an article about it and seeing only Sony. And getting a vague impression of "Sony" connected in some way with some victory or other. "Sony FTW", is all he's seeing.

No such thing as bad advertising. Even Jack the Ripper has fans.
