over the last 4 years i have burned over 10,000 dvd-r and used nearly every type of disc ever made,there is no way of saying which brand are the best. the quality of the batch makes more diffrence than anything. or the combination of disc/writer/reader. you need to find a good disc and buy as many of them as you can afford. because the next batch you get may act completely different. theres less risk buying the more expensive discs but iv found sometimes the cheap ones are better. the best thing to do is have a look at the surface of the disc holding it against the light. on most disc you have problems with you will see inperfections in the dye and pit holes and darker dye is normaly better but not always. also dont buy over prints because you may find a good quality disc beneth but you get a lot of discs with damage or contamination from them being reprossesed.
