Sonic Forces: Classic Sonic Gameplay Trailer

SEGA has put out a trailer for its upcoming modern Sonic game, Sonic Forces. This title is the 25th anniversary game for the Sonic franchise, despite releasing a year late. It appears to be a sequel to 2011's Sonic Generations, featuring both Classic and Modern Sonic. This specific trailer shows off Classic Sonic in a new rendition of Green Hill Zone. Sonic Forces is set to launch Holiday 2017, for Switch, PC, PS4, and XBO.

Sonic games cannot be good anymore they are just sonic cult cashgrabs imo, I mean sonic team doesn't put their heart and soul into this, the open world fan game (I cannot remember the name, Sonic Utopia maybe?) Is better than anything they have produced.

In a world where Sonic Mania (GOTY 2017) exists this is even more embarrassing than the "classic" gameplay in Sonic Generations. I guess Sonic Team just wonder why bother to implement real physics when they can just place boost pads everywhere?

And that music is awful. Comparing this and Sonic Mania it's funny to see how much real passion in a project can make a difference even given the difference in team sizes.

The real question is if it's functional. I don't want to be falling through the level or jumping infinitely. Sega needs to learn that kids can wait rather than just rushing the game for them. Those little bastards can wait whether they like it or not. lol

Maybe it's just me, or the way YT handled the footage with its compression and whatnot, but the footage was hurting my eyes. It was one thing when it was fully 2D\, but the speed, lighting, even grass detail, and such at high speeds in 3D was beginning to give me a headache.

I gotta ask. What is the point of classic Sonic gameplay in these 3D sonic titles, if we're actually going to be getting standalone true classic Sonic games like Sonic Mania?! I mean in Sonic Generations it made sense, classic Sonic gameplay had been attempted to be recreated at the time, but was mostly a failure (looking at you Sonic 4), so it was a great opportunity to let that oldschool gameplay shine again. But now we're in an era where it is getting to shine again in the way that we all always wanted, so why also shoehorn him into this Sonic Forces game? Seems unnecessary, and unfocused. Not gonna lie, I'm much more looking forward to Sonic Mania at this point than I am Sonic Forces.

It's like New Super Mario Bros and a Mario 3D game. Except Sonic Mania is far superior to NSMB.

One of the keyshops is 95% off at the moment (probably humble bundle keys)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
And a small percentage of keys bought with a stolen credit card.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
You never know if the key works or not, they don't provide a guarantee.
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Sure is... and poor devs get hit with the charge backs

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Exactly.
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Thor from "Pirate Software" said its just better to pirate the game than buy from a keyshop if you care about the devs

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
devs don't get hit with the chargebacks, the keys are free to generate
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    at least on steam
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
Except he said the DEVS get hits with the chargeback cost
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
since the key gets bought with a stolen credit card
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
there's nothing to charge back because the keys don't cost them money to generate in the first place
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If the game has a crack sure
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Most these crack sites have dead links anymore or the crack don't even work
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye What don't you get? If someone use a stolen creditcard. Then sell said key on G2A. If I the dev sold the game key, I will get the charge back cost. That's how it works, it doesn't matter if I generate 300 keys if 300 of them are bought with stolen credit cards. I never said it was on Steam, but its the dev that gets hit. There is a ton of stories out there if you google it.
