That's interesting. I have all 3 consoles (well the XBONE is in a box somewhere in the garage now) and the very first place I am looking for cross platform titles is the Switch.
I am an adult that travels and loves gaming. It is not even a consideration to buy on another platform if a title is slated to be on the Switch for me. Better value proposition for the money
I agree regading portability as being the sell factor of the Switch for me.
I would also take into consideration buying the Switch version of a game first if it is available.
But, TBH, since I bought the Switch I have played many more hours on the XB1 than on the Switch.
I suppose it is related to the type of games I play and I like. I play a lot of indie metroidvania type games, RPGs, etc.
I hope I play the Switch more often in the future when those games arrive, I think that will be the case with e.g. Disgaea 5 after my copy arrives.
As it is right now I played Blaster Master Zero a lot on the Switch, but you can finish it so many times only.
Also I play Fast RMX here and there (I don't think it is very enjoyable in a small screen without the PRO Controller though).
Then also Zelda. But this also is not very travel friendly IMHO, I play it during my commute to work but everytime I play is like me thinking what the hell was I doing before and what to do, and then I am at the office, I think this game is better suited to sit and play for a couple of hours.
Meanwhile during the last week I have been playing a lot of Momodora 4 and Thimbleweed park on the XB1S. Almost didn't touch the Switch.
Specially Momodora, what a great game, I am about to beat it for a third time, trying to get that insane achievement.
And don't get me wrong, I don't play only indie, but I love them pretty much.
The thing I was trying to say anyway is that for me it is important for a console to have the games I want to play.
I don't have a PS4, but I am sure it has a lot of games I want to play, Japanese games mostly, Project Diva, Steins;Gate, Disgaea, Nier Automata, etc. I hope the Switch turns out to receive all this love from Japanese developers, but it is not there right now.
And regarding the XB1S, it has a lot of games that I love to play and I do.
The OS is great and full of features, and the games are fucking cheap (perhaps due to my subscription, but still).
I find it abherrant for this console to end up "stored in a box". Perhaps if you have a PS4 you play most games in there already so I would understand (but still I would miss Forza Horizon 3, it is like a relax pill for me), but if you didn't it is a great console instead with a plentiful catalog.
In short, I stand for it that today an XB1 or PS4 has more return value than a Switch, all of this because lack of software in the latter, and that is something that I hope will change in the future, giving then a big lead to the Switch just because of its portability feature.
