Hacking SKDS2 GBA emulator not saving

I start up Pokemon Emerald from the GBA plugin from the Supercard.sc website, but when i save and turn off my 3dsxl the save is not there when i return, if i save, and press restart, on the touchscreen, my save stays but wen i turn it off it isnt there when i come back, whys this?

You have to exit the emulator before you turn off your DS for the ingame saves to stay.
