Hey everyone,
i have a New 3DS XL on Sys 11.13 (Luma 10.0.1 i think, last version anyway i installed the custom firmware in february 2020 from a 11.3 stock firmware with soundhax) and here is my issue :
i don't know if the right screw was "cheap" (not the same color as the left one or on my new 3ds) or if i messed it up but this one can't be unscrewed, so i opened the left one, put so much pressure over the back plate and succeeded in removing the micro sd with my finger. (i tried my phillips #0 screwdriver that used to open both screws on my New 3DS XL and seem to function with my N3DS as well, but it didn't work on the right one of my N3DSXL, also tried a ph#1 or a small flat head screwdriver).

So i thought i would be sending and deleting (i hope you can as well, because i don't want to replace my micro sd by a bigger one that could be "unremovable" from the plate in the future, or damage it while removing it) CIAs wirelessly.

Is it possible, i have heard that you could install ftpd.cia on your New3DSXL and then send files from your PC to your N3DSXL connected via wi-fi with a software like filezilla ?
Can someone send me a tutorial for it (i have seen some on the internet but don't know if this still works on 2020 with last Luma and 11.13 sys firmware) that explain it ?

Thanks for your help.

tl;dr : can you send and delete CIAs files to/on your New3DSXL with ftpd.cia on it from your computer wirelessly.

Or maybe use the micro sd management process that Nintendo offers you to do ?
Is it easier, are these 2 methods (ftpd if it still exist and functions, and the official micro sd management) safe with a cfw new3dsxl ?

Thanks

Use boop to send install to fbi
Thanks for your reply, had never heard about "boop" (but yeah installed my first cfw on february 2020 lul), saw some people talk about it on a thread (messages from 2019) saying version 1.4 would work better than version 2.0.

Will try to learn more about it and maybe try.
No one can tell me about ftpd working anymore ? Because the tutorial was really easy.

Thx

I installed ftpd.cia on my micro sd (when i succeeded in removing it from its slot) and could send a cia file to my New 3ds xl using winscp (because i first tried to install filezilla but virustotal reported 16 viruses databases considering its installer had a malware even though Kaspersky Total Security on my computer didn't detect it, so i gave up installing it.
Takes quite some time (in my case maximum speed was about 1 Mo/s but that's fine, at least i can access my micro sd without having to remove the back plate (which i can't because of the right screw).

Do you have a surge protector or an UPS?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea but to play the next gen games, you must have those games on internal, or buy the official ssd expansion cards, which are expensive
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, dunno what each one of those are

@MysticStarlight, my PS3 was already modded when my dad bought it for me and my brother

A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@MysticStarlight, although whatever device we plug into them stops getting power anyways lol

    that's weird

On the series s/x you can use a external HD but any next gen games must be on your internal ssd, or you can buy a ssd expansion card, but pricey. Any xbone, 360, or og Xbox games can be played from external tho.
