Supposed? Have you ever spent hours trying to get something to work and it finally does? It's more than supposed
Hey, I'm not taking anything seriously, like I said from the start: "I dunno, it's a pretty dumb thing to be feeling, I'm aware." I dunno how much less seriously I can take it lol. It's not like I no longer enjoy retroarch on the Xbox, I just think it sucks to get that feeling that you're breaking the rules and accomplishing something that not everyone is even aware is possible, taken away from you, which just kinda takes away some of the fun that this scene so naturally lends itself to.Don't take it too seriously. Again, the focus is gaming, even if you just want to remod a console forever and ever for the supposed thrill.
Somewhat off topic, but do you know how well RA runs on the Series X by chance? My brother's currently borrowing the Wii U, so since the Series doesn't need a mod, was curious
Apparently even though the Explore tab is working fine for you, turns out there was weirdness going on under the hood.. It's being looked into though
That was the issue they were looking into actuallyThat's strange, I've been using the explore tab for a while, the only issue I had is a visual glitch when displaying the release year.
As you can see it shows "352 ~ 480".
But other than that it always worked fine for me.
There will be some big improvements for RetroArch WiiU users in the next stable, including:
— libretro (@libretro) August 2, 2021
* Enhanced compression of cores (unzipped we went from 1.4GB to 578MB now - good for your SD card!)
* Much faster content loading (sometimes it's near instant now for non-arcade content) pic.twitter.com/zoRudJFgBl
You know it’s entirely possible to put certain homebrew on your console for gaming and certain homebrew on your console simply because you can and it’s fun to do. I’m not sure if you’re using reductio ad absurdum on purpose but it’s sure not making the point you think you’re making.Don't take it too seriously. Wow thanks guys! Also glad RA team are mentioning Wii U progress! The official libretro twitter has posted some status updates about the wiiu port.

It's okey, MikaDubbz. I understand. We all get joy out of strange activities sometimes. For example, i like doing my own game sets for each specific console, let's say, the Wii. I rip my Sega CD games, compress the audio, isolate the data track, manually create the CUE, name the folder, you know, the works. There's something about proper file organization that i kind of find enjoyable sometimes. Knowing the time that i invested in making my original game work on a console that was never intended to be running it, it's more 'fun' for me when playing.Hey, I'm not taking anything seriously, like I said from the start: "I dunno, it's a pretty dumb thing to be feeling, I'm aware." It's just sarcasm. You're reading too much into it. There's no one in the world at a time enjoying whatever thing you think you're the only one, doesn't matter how pointless it is to expect the need to crack security in order to be able to enjoy retrogaming, or not even playing after cracking it. So it is an impractical conclusion to think you are unique to any event. Even saying "You're definitely the only one." should be an indicator, since that would make me an omniscient being, lol.You know it’s entirely possible to put certain homebrew on your console for gaming and certain homebrew on your console simply because you can and it’s fun to do. Exactly, I'm not saying the video games themselves stop being fun, just that part of the experience has been taken away from the equation in Xbox, and I very much enjoyed that part of the experience.Just saw the twitter mention some posts above, this sounds very, very promising for the Wii U port. Slow loading has always been a horrible deficit on the port.

Yeah, it's weird, but i know, lol. Though to be honest, i admire Microsoft decision regarding opening the console to external apps. It's a more comfortable experience, specially because now non-tech savvy friends can emulate without going through hoops.Exactly, I'm not saying the video games themselves stop being fun, just that part of the experience has been taken away from the equation in Xbox, and I very much enjoyed that part of the experience.

Apparently it was an issue that effected all big endian systems so its not WiiU specificI'm glad to see that even the smallest issues are being fixed, kudos to everyone who is currently contributing with the Wii U port.
It was this commit, right?Apparently it was an issue that effected all big endian systems so its not WiiU specific
I think there were a few.It was this commit, right?

Wow, this sounds really nice, i wasn't aware of it finally taking traction, i lost the sight of it since 2017. Would be a great alternative for Wii U users inside RA. I'll check the link.Hey @niuus, big fan of your work on the WiiSXRX. Have you read about the progress made for a RA psx core on the Wii U side?
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/4852
You'll have to scroll down some to get to the latest comments. A programmer named embercold has been working on it, and @ploggy has been testing and spreading the word. Fingers crossed for it.
Not used Retroarch in a while are we any further with all the broken cores that we reported on a few months ago working yet?I think there were a few.
EDIT: the 2nd 3rd and 4th..

Cave Story is still broken, but apparently it's broken on a few systems so its not WiiU specific. Not used Retroarch in a while are we any further with all the broken cores that we reported on a few months ago working yet?
