This is my Vita port of Cannonball, an enhanced Outrun engine by djyt.

Thanks djyt for writing such a great program and making sure it is easily portable.

Vita Controls
=====
L - Insert Coin
R - Menu
Square - Start
Triangle - Gas
Circle - Break
Cross - Change Gears
Analog Stick - Steering Wheel

Installation Instructions
=====
Note: arcade roms from Outrun version B are required to run this homebrew!

- Install the .vpk
- Extract the contents of data.zip into ux0:data/ (it is just two folders and an info file for roms)
- Obtain the arcade roms for Outrun Version B and extract them into ux0:data/cannonball/roms
- Launch the bubble, enjoy Outrun in almost perfect 60 fps.

  • gas/brake on right stick if analog="on" (digital gas/brake on buttons if analog="wheel only")

  • better image quality (less blurry)
  • support non-fullscreen modes

  • moved menu navigation to the dpad. True analog steering wheel control can now be enabled in the controls menu, and the menu can still be navigated afterwards.
1.02
  • removed unneccessary temporary files (__MACOSX, .DS_Store) from data.zip
1.01
  • forgot to include config.xml in data.zip, it is now included

This is really awesome. Outrun is one of most favorite arcade games, and Cannonball has some very nice improvements to an already really fun game. Thanks for the effort!

PS - With a bit of fiddling, I was able to get it compiled under Ubuntu 14.04 with OpenGL (which isn't surprising since it's supposed to work with Debian and Raspberry PI). Without OpenGL, on high res + 60fps ~50% of one core is busy in Xorg, which is always fun...

Outrun is one of my fav Arcade games
And one of most impressive Arcades ever with After Burner II and Galaxy Force II (the 60fps scaling is still impressive)

With 1.5 version at 16:9 I have slowdown when race starts.

Any fix or is to much for vita?

Enchanced mode is very slow too.
