OP
I have begun to dislike using DSiware on the 3DS either because of the stretching or the small screen size in original resolution, so i was wondering what the Hacking Status of the console is at the moment?
Is anyone still actively working on it?

With what goal?
Unsigned dsiware runs and you can manually set it to original resolution.
DSi itself is dead regarding hacking I think, because it is a DS lite without GBA slot and bad downloadable games (Except Flipnote Studio).
They even sell it for less than a DS lite at gamestop.

You can always hold select when starting dsiware, It is smaller, but If you are on an o3dsxl or any n3ds, it shouldn't be too annoying

Neither of you read the original post properly.
"[...]either because of the stretching or the small screen size in original resolution."
I am aware of either option and simply favor the screens of the DSi XL, as i have already stated.
Also, there are good DSiware titles, i just picked up a card and i am simply going to purchase them.

You can start here:

If your not going to reasonably hardmod your DSi/XL/LL, then you might as well forget about it. It requires an exploitable purchased version game that is no longer on the store (has only the nonexpoitable version) and soon the DSi eShop is going off line as well, making a hardmod downgrade and hacking a requirement.

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

but its a custom os for both of them

    designed for only specific hardware

so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
