Of course checking for corrupt data doesn't corrupt the data, that would be some pretty shonky design.

I only had one game not work properly, it was freezing at a particular point in Flashback, I was relieved when reinstalling fixed that. If there's just a tiny amount of corruption somewhere in a game's files, it could be something not even used like the metadata, or it could be one pixel in an image that you wouldn't notice, or it could be a part of the game you don't explore, or it could break everything right as you're about to win. I'd say fix it just in case tbh.

I installed 40 games with SXOS's NSP installer and haven't had an issue yet. The "corruption" may just be a simple case of an MD5 mismatch (take a text file, hash it, then go back and add a space, and rehash it, the hash is now different, but the file isn't corrupted). Either way, I've had no issues yet.
