Ps5 No power no beeps edm-020 no shorts but no 3.3v

Hi all, any one able to share some knowledge. I have a edm 020 board with no power. 12v and 5v rails are present but no 3.3v. No shorts anywhere and all fuses are fine. Anyone got any ideas? And where is the 3.3v generated from on these board. Thanks

On the EDM 020 board, the 3.3V power rail is generated by the LITEON PA-1131-18MX power supply unit (PSU). If you're not seeing any 3.3V output, it's possible that the PSU is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Before replacing the PSU, you can try checking for any visible signs of damage, such as bulging or leaking capacitors or burnt-out components. You can also use a multimeter to test the PSU's output voltages and ensure they are within the acceptable range.

If the PSU is not the issue, it's possible that there is a fault in the board's power management system. In this case, it may be necessary to check the board's power management IC and surrounding components for any signs of damage or malfunction.

Where does the 3.3v from psu goes to the mainboard? I thought mainboard only takes 12v from PSU.

I have no 3.3v at 7002 or the 4.8v you mentioned in that thread I do have 5v though. Could it be that a2 chip?


Agreed that it has nothing to do with the PSU, that merely creates 12v that the board down converts the various voltages needed.

CHECK if any output voltage i.e 3.3v 1.8v short to ground before replacing any chip
