Hello everyone,i am curious about something.My ps3 has 4.25 firmware if it had 3.55 from the factory if i formatt it will it go back to 3.55?

No, its not saved on the hard drive its stored on a chip on the ps3, the only way to go back down is to grab a flasher and solder it to the main board

the restore ps3 system option says that formats the system storage AND resotres the system softwware to the default settings.does this default includes firmware?

the core boot files reside in NOR/NAND (physical chip).Files on HDD are some kind of teh "extension" of firmware.
