Here's some Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero addresses (US/NTSC):

105D131C - Gems
105D1322 - Mega Potion
105D1323 - Roast
105D1324 - Oranges
105D1325 - Gator Steak
105D137A - Monster Egg

These were found with tcpGecko and most likely not with the latest code handler. The gems are easy to find and as these are static addresses the offsets for the other items can easily be calculated. Gems max out at 999 (3E7), the rest at 9.

I've asked before but maybe now's a better time; is there anyone interested in creating a speed-o-meter code for MK8? I know Bean made one long ago but he never released it and I doubt he will. Having that code would be very nice.

This is my most anticipated code by far along an actual working inf.health code for Zelda TP HD. The last level in Captain Toad is a nightmare!

The last level sucked. If no code is ever made, you could always download my save that I posted. It has everything done except anything involving amiibos. Although I can understand why you'd want to do it yourself.

I'm still waiting for a code that unlocks all the titles in Pokken Tournament, and what sucks is that there's no 100% save I can download if all else fails -.-

Can someone please make a code for that? I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting for that considering how tedious some of it is (haha 100 online wins, yea right).

I'm trying to create a code for it. I was able to modify lives and coins on the US version, but I have no idea where to start for invincibility, because I have no clue how Toad's size/health is stored. I took a guess and thought maybe it started at 2 for big, 1 for small and 0 for dead but I can't find anything searching like that.

I'm completely clueless on cheats but I have to give you a lot of credit for trying. That's weird Nintendo seemed to make his health/size so cryptic.

I feel for you though. I hope you can find something that lets him stay in infinite star mode. That would actually be pretty sweet. Maybe I'd use it just to give the maze a giant fuck you lol. I beat it, but owning everything would be very satisfying.

Now is finding codes literally a huge guessing game and a lot of trial and error?

If it's anything like Super Mario 3D World, go to a level where you can get a star, then do an unknown search while the star is/isn't active.

Don't think of it like health, think of it more like a powerup. I believe in Super Mario 3D World, 0 would be the small size of character while 1 is normal size.

Ok, well I will continue my search after work. The only problem with that is, search between 0 and 1 is probably going to find me a ton of locations, so I guess I'll have to die and restart a level over and over to narrow the list down.

Also, what would I unknown search for though? Exact value or what?

Usually with Mario games, 0 = small, 1 = Super, 2 = Fire, etc.

I have not tried to make any Wii U codes yet, but when I was experimenting with finding SMM 3DS item codes on my own with Gateway, the method that I used was to become Super, do an 8-bit exact search for 01, take damage, do an exact 8-bit search for 00, then keep repeating the process until there were not many possible hits left. If you cannot narrow it down to one offset, then test each of the few remaining offsets until you get the desired result. With SMM 3DS, there was not any noticeable change until I got an item or took damage (except for when I was able to throw fireballs with small Mario).

Hopefully this will help.

When it comes to invisibility, do an equal or not equal search.

Ex: First, do an unknown search while having a star power up, do a is equal search while you still a star powerup.

Then when you lost the star power up, do a not equal search, and do an equal search while not having a star power.

Keep doing this, if it is like Super Mario 3D World, you should find value that causes the character to having a strobing like effect and be invisible.

Well, I still can't find the address for this. How do I know if I need to search 32 bit, 16 bit or 8 bit and whether or not it's aligned. Also, how do you figure out the range to search in? I had to search between 20000000 and 40000000 to find the coins, but for all I know this value may be in a different range. Lastly, I don't understand the unknown value search because it still allows you to choose an option like "Equal" but you don't enter a value, and half the time it just returns nothing and asks if I want to restart the search.

I haven't been able to find anything to do with this yet either. I think around the end of 39 range is the graphics data. I found an address that turned various layers on or off for toads model.

Coins and lives are stored as 32 bit but technically they only need 16 and 8 respectively due to their size. I am searching at the moment from 10 - 40 using 8 bit unknown and checking for changed values when i get hit and then when i get the mushroom.

I'm also experimenting with pausing when searching in case the data changes during idle time. I noticed after a while toad falls asleep so maybe this is messing with my search when it takes too long.

Also, sometimes searching for a value different by 1 is better than assuming values to start with. You keep the pattern of looking for something like 0, 1, 2 etc but it doesn't matter what the values are.

I think these move all the time so i am trying a pointer search now. Always around 397E0000 though

OK i think it moves per level so we will need a pointer

level 1:
397EA918
397EA91C

level 2:
397ECC18
397ECC1C

level 4 / level 9:
397EAA18
397EAA1C

Setting them both to 00000000 prevents you from being killed.

Another option is to find the pointer for the the address just before them which is the countdown for flashing after being hit. if you have this fixed then you will always be invincible.

What did you do to find them? I want to find the one for the final bonus maze level.

  • Search between 397A0000 - 3A000000
  • Search for 00000000 when you first start
  • Get hit by an enemy so you go small
  • Search for 00000001

Should be 2 values next to each other ending in 18 and 1C like this:

Before (397EA918 + 397EA91C):
level1%20before.png

After (397EA914 is a countdown timer):
level1%20after.png

Here is another test code, only on level 1 though. Wherever you touch on your controller screen you can warp to

Touch screen with stylus and press ZL + ZR to warp there:

Lol, how am I supposed to press ZL and ZR while touching somewhere with the stylus? :P
