So, I finally got around to downgrading my 3DS to 2.1 to dump my otp.bin (and otp0x108.bin) and then I decided to be an idiot and restore my nand backup (9.1) from before all of this formatting and downgrading and what not instead of carrying on with Plailect's guide (since from what I could see, was about starting a fresh new sys/rednand and I wanted keep both my original sys/emunand). On the root of my SD Card I have otp.bin, otp0x108.bin, firm0.bin and firm1.bin (I dumped the firm.bin files with decrypt9 after restoring). Whenever I try to install a9lh with safea9lhinstaller through menuhax, I get the error "otp.bin doesn't exist and can't be dumped". I upgraded back because I was told that I could still install a9lh on 9.1 as long as I have my otp.bin handy. So, is there something I'm missing? Before anybody asks, my .bin files are named like otp.bin as they should, not otp.bin.bin or anything silly like that by accident.

OTP.bin needs to be in the a9lh folder. I had the same problem, I guessed to move it there and that worked :-)
Ahh, right. I thought it would be something like that. I'll do that right now.

Right, I've done that but now I get another error: "firm0.bin doesn't exist or has a wrong size". (It is 4,096kb) I have FIRM0 and FIRM1 copied to three different places on my SD card as well since I'm not sure where I was supposed to stick them (root of the sd, decrypt9 and a9lh). Anyone know where they're actually supposed to go? :(

4096KB definitely wrong size and wrong files. Make sure your firms are from here
"data_input_v2.zip" on plailects guide.
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)
And they go here -> sdmc://a9lh/<here>

Make sure every file that you use is from that guide except otp.bin of course.

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high
like come on 60 for a game thats a decade old??)

@ColdBlitz, i forgot breath of the wild released for the Wii u
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
