I just got an RGH'd Falcon 360. I have it set up with the latest version of Freestyle Dash, auto booted with Dashlaunch. I can play 360 and XBLA games with no issues. I installed the HDD partition fixer, and installed the hacked Xbox emulator files, but when I load a game (Marvel Superheroes vs SF), it just goes to a black screen. I tried a couple of others, and it is the same thing. My OG Xbox collection is specifically for RGH 360's.

Also, I do a manual scan to get box art and screenshots in FSD, but it never downloads any artwork. Any idea how to fix this?

you'll know if the xbox emulator files are being detected. the screen will blink real quick. if it doesn't blink, something is likely wrong in that area.

I also may add that the HDDX folder didn't already have a Compatibility folder. It didn't have Any files or folders in it.

Also, any way to get FSD to download box art?

Mine is the same. Do you have any other folders or files in the HDDX folder? Mine didn't have the Compatibily folder or any files when I created it. Btw, where did you get the files?

I think i got them from that iso site. it's been years since I installed the xbox 1's compatibility files. @DinohScene may be able to help you further since he's probably done this several times. I've only done it once, so I don't quite remember the process. I"m still using the same hdd though. I just made a backup of my internal hdd to an external one iin case something were to happen to the internal. that's how I had the files on my computer. you should try it with a game I know works: Megaman Anniversary Collection (I love that navi remixed music) ;).

Other then trying out older hacked Xbox emu files, you're stuck with what it is.

As for the boxart, I never gotten original Xbox boxart to download neither.
You can add it manually.

I can't get any box art for 360, XBLA, or OG Xbox to work.

As far as playing OG Xbox on my RGH 360, farthest I got is the screen showed the Xbox logo with white background, the screencflashed and did a sound, then froze or went black.

I'd say check your connection settings. make sure livestrong isn't enabled in dashlaunch - livestrong = false.

not sure what to tell you about original xbox games. it flickering means that the xbox files are being read. it could be the hdd. I don't believe you can use the original xbox emulator files without an hdd anyway.

I disabled livestrong...no change

I’d just format your HDD and start again. Download the hacked Xbox emulator from sevensins for the 360. Follow their guide on there, works a treat.

As for box art, which dash are you using? Set up auora if you’re not using that over freestyle since it is being maintained and all that good stuff works. That’s what I personally use. + I have 20+ Xbox original games on my 360 and they boot fine. The emulator is probably corrupted somewhere

I believe artwork is downloaded from Microsoft's servers which is why I suggested that option be disabled.

You'll have to copy the hacked Xbox emu onto the HDDX partition.

As for the content folder, if you upload DLC etc with 360 content manager, the folder will be auto made.

Yea I did that. I used the HDD partition fixer to create the HDDX, and copied the Compatibility folder over. Some tutorials say to overwrite what is in the compatibility folder, but when I created HDDX, it was empty.

I use FlashFXP to copy games to my 360. Should I be using 360 Content Manager?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
