Hi All

I have my wii hacked many years ago and recently i moved house and want to bring it back to live.

I downloaded some new games recently for fun but not all of them can be played, for example if i click the cover of the game, it shows black instead of the game content, and obviously after clicking start, it tries to load but kicks me back to wii main menu.

There are a few games that i couldn't play, for example,

R8AE01 - PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure
S2LE01 - PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond

but there are also games that works just fine, for example,

R3RE8P - Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing
RDJE4F - Death Jr.: Root of Evil

I wonder what is the problem and how to resolve it please.

The usb loader is the latest r1281 from oscwii

Also this is the system check

Your cios look fine in your syscheck, some games u may need to adjust your language or video mode settings to get them to play right, or it could be a bad rip or something like that.

Priiloader and bootmii ios is missing from your syscheck, you should drag and drop your syscheck.csv onto modmii.exe and it will tell you what to do. Also install bootmii boot2 if your wii is capable and it's not already installed.

Hard drive seems to be fine as other games are launching. If your hacks are really outdated you my also still be running a wbfs formatted hard drive, if so, you should switch to fat32. Wbfs2fat can help with converting, and modmii's usb loader up wizard might also help u make sure everything else is up to date. Or u can simply drag and drop your sd card or hard drive drive letter onto modmii.exe and it can assist with updating the apps it detects

I force video mode to be NTSC and language english.

Also done the checksum, but i must admit I don't understand what it means, as both of them are different from the one found on GameTDB, however I see my other working games have different checksum as well.

R8AE01.wbfs
Size: 2,162,163,712
CRC-32: 2F337534
MD-5: ea27e8e1311fc3be11450f64e35ce60f

S2LE01.wbfs
Size: 1,570,766,848
CRC-32: 667941A8
MD-5: 6cd76f3217d7feface2920b7c62df82d

I will try to install both priiloader and bootmii, i may need some times, but they should not be the cause of why I couldn't play some of the games, right?

My hard drive has FAT32 format, and as I can play some other games, I dont worry this.

By using ModMii, I have got this 13 downloaded and I shall follow the guide to install them tomorrow.

Morning

Thanks for your reply.

I have not tried PAL, but you are right as the system check reports it is a PAL region machine.

But I wonder why some of the NTSC game works, as I have been downloading NTSC game in wbfs format, saved on my FAT32 harddrive.

No, I didn't use Wii backup manager. So why do u mention this please? What may I use this program for?

wii backup manager==>

it correctly places the games on the hard drive.

Doing a simple copy and paste of your games without Wii Backup Manager on the hard drive can corrupt the game(s).

I see, many thanks, will try it when I am home.

I will also download the PAL version to try.

Btw, I do have more problems and hopefully you can help. I can not save progress of the game.

For example, in the game Death Dr root of evil, I can save (and it does automatically as well) after check point, but when I start the game in another day, there is no saved progress and I have to start from the beginning again, what problem could that be please?

some games ==>

When you quit a game, you must save in your game settings before leaving the game permanently

yes, i also saved using the in game save option, so i was wondering whether the 'saved' file is not able to be created in my harddrive. For example, do I expect a file perhaps with an extension .sav in my harddrive or SD card?

I am able to open those two pokepark game today, probably is because i have downloaded the PAL version (although i used wii backup manager to check and it shows it is NTSC, game downloaded from vimm), as well as patching all the updates using modmii.

Now I have another problem, it complains that there is no enough space to create block, and i m asked to delete or move data, I see that most of the data in the wii can not be moved but erase only, does it mean that there are only a limited number of games that i can play? and I need to keep on deleting data when I switch game?

you need to delete backups (data management) to free up space and have more free blocks ==> it's up to you to choose what you want to delete to free up space.

This is exactly my question, I see that not many games allow me to move the data ( in mine, probably only 2 out of 20 can be moved), so the only option is to delete, and that means at any period of time, I can only play a limited number of games, is it right? As whatever is deleted will be treated as a fresh new game with no saved progress when play again.

I have a PAL region Wii U. It took me quite some time to realise I should only be using PAL Wii ROMS in vWii. Oddly, Nintentdont isn't fussy about which region GameCube ROMS come from.

Before I play the pokepark game, it has less than 96, and the game complains, the other pokepark game asks for 114. I have roughly 15 to 20 game profile in Wii data management.

Game saves generally don't take up a lot of space, it's wiiware and vc installed channels that do. Confirm this then for those titles try installing them to an emunand instead
Here is all I have (nothing in game cube), 20 game profiles and 5 channels.

Can you please suggest me what is the best arrangement?

Click on each and it will tell u how many blocks it's taking up. Start with the last one that says Wii something (too blurry to make out), I think that may be the culprit
Block open 66

Wii channel
Usb loader 24
Homebrew 13
Mii contest 33
Internet 218
Wii & the internet 1614

Game
Pokepark 95
Death Dr 3
Jurassic 4
Wii party 2
Pokémon 29
Wii play 1
PAC man 2
Warioware 1
Wii play motion 2
Hot wheel 1
Just dance 2021 17
Mario party 9
Wii sport 4
Just dance kid 1
Wii party 2
Wii resort 4
Wii sport 4
Homebrew 1
Internet 37

*I can see some duplicate name here, I guess it is because I play with physical disc once and downloaded the wbfs and play after

So do I have abnormally high usage? Like the internet? Or I have abnormally low space?

Also, if I move the item the SD card, will they be loaded from the SD card? Or the SD card just works as a temporary storage for the data rather than erase them permanently?

Delete Wii & the internet

"The Wii + Internet Channel or Wii & The Internet Channel (or alternatively known as the Get Connected Video Channel or Wii: See What You Can Do On the Internet) is installed to Wii console units manufactured in October 2008 or later. It contains an informational video specifying the benefits of connecting the Wii console to the Internet, such as downloading extra channels, new software, Virtual Console titles, and playing games over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection."
