Nintendont memory card emulation question

So, I can't test this right now but I wanted to ask about something with Nintendont regarding memory card emulation, specifically how settings work in relation to existing files.

If a game already as an emulated memory card for it, and that memory card's size is let's say 251, but the settings in Nintendont are changed so memory card size is 59 blocks instead, does launching a game that has an existing 251 block emulated memory card result in overwriting that memory card and losing that data?

I was thinking about switching to injections on Wii U rather than using USB Loader GX as a frontend, but I've got various games that I use different sizes of memory cards for. I would assume that Nintendont would simply use the existing memory card rather than overwriting data, but I wanted to ask and maybe avoid needing to test it out.
