If anyone is interested, Wrestling with Gaming did a great history video of Digital Pictures. They cover the whole kerfuffle that is Night Trap. Pretty freaking cool imo. Not FMV games that is, but this kind of untold history. I have really fallen down the rabbit hole of pre-2000s tech and am quickly becoming a post 1996 technology denier lol



Also if you have never seen the non-USA version of the Mega CD, google it up, it looks sick has hell. Seriously, the US version looks like trash lol

It's not an Indie game. It came out for SEGA CD back in the day. It was a very controversial game that was pulled from the shelves due to it's sexual content. It became popular after SEGA was forced to pull it. I played it on my buddies SEGA CD back in the day.

I don't think it's sexual content is relevant these days. Remember this game was released before broadband internet was widespread and Pornhub existed.

Not true, during the hearings held by US Congress MK was indeed one of the focus games (along with Lethal Enforcers) but it was Night Trap that was the main focus.

Heck they had like 4 members of the night trap team testify to the hearing about the game. No one from Midway testified at all.

Let's also not forget that Night Trap was pulled from shelves while MK never was.

Oh and Nintendo stuck it to Sega by saying they'd never have Night Trap on a Nintendo console so yes, Night Trap was mostly the reason why the ESRB was created.
