I just visited @FlareReZ's Neocities page and wow, it's such a blast from the past... Those micro-banners for services that you'd stumble upon (there seems to even be one for Discord?), the "Under Construction", the visitor counter, the animated background... all things that I miss from the old internet. Other things include old forums (use the GBATemp Throwback style to see what I'm talking about) and generally nice, colorful and animated design instead of flat icons and 2-color design.

It's not the movies or games downloads that I would worry about, like breaking into networks, downloading encrypted things, spying on network traffic. I have seen so many "Top Secret" seals on files when I was a kid

Ship to ship communication software for the Navy although without access to the encrypting chips it was mostly useless
