Hacking My Wiikey was delivered today :D

Was just about to start the install, then realised I hasn't set my Wii up in ages. What do I do? I know I need to burn the firmware (1.9g I believe) but what should I do with the Wii? Just update to newest, or leave it and see?

Also, any other HW I'll need. GC pad or something I read about earlier. Haven't got my old GC at the house, so would have to go buy one.

I believe that new WiiKey firmware is due any day now ... 1.9s ... it may already be out, in fact.

Updating to 3.2E should be safe enough for you.

Why thank ya. So if I just update now, then install the chip, then grab 1.9g it should all be alright? I'm only really interested in playing back ups from different regions (PAL here) so I should have too much trouble?

Is a Wiikey still a good chip? I can get one easily, but I'm hearing rumours it's 'dead'. BTW, also a PAL near-launch Wii here also interested in US back-ups. Oh, and can I play Gamecube games (back-ups) with this chip?
