the box won't help he needs the receipt. DuhYou could buy the packaging on eBay to attain a Proof of Purchase, or contact a seller of the same model and ask to buy the box.

Then why do the words proof of purchase exist on all boxes UPC codes, why? Because that's proof enough, they have no right to see a receipt, you aren't returning it to the store for RMA.the box won't help he needs the receipt. Duh
well then i suppose it works differently here in Italy. SorryThen why do the words proof of purchase exist on all boxes UPC codes, why? Because that's proof enough, they have no right to see a receipt, you aren't returning it to the store for RMA.
America is all about profit, an RMA is a tax right off and free refurbable unit for them. They have no reason to refuse him service if he has the original (or similar) packaging.well then i suppose it works differently here in Italy. Sorry
You're saying the person who gave it to me is a dick, which they aren't. They know I love fixing malfunctioning hardware and told me if I fixed this tablet, I could have it. However, this is beyond me.So it never worked in the first place??? Whoever gave you a dead tablet is just mean... I feel like they either updated it and it failed during, or tried to root it and screwed it up completely... Id ask for them to atleast look for proof of purchase...
I'll take a look. Really, it's probably the only thing I can do.There is another way to fix it without finding the specific model - this guide will involve taking the device apart, and should really be used as a last resort if you still cannot obtain the firmware from the manufacturers or sellers.
It's probably not the best guide, and you'll have to mess around with putting it back together again afterwards, but it's the only way apart from trying to figure out what the 'original' tablet is? That's if it is a copy, which knowing from what I read before, probably is.I'll take a look. Really, it's probably the only thing I can do.
Well see that was not clarified. Sooooooo yeaYou're saying the person who gave it to me is a dick, which they aren't. They know I love fixing malfunctioning hardware and told me if I fixed this tablet, I could have it. However, this is beyond me.

Well, see, you people don't need to know every single obscure detail about me.Well see that was not clarified. Sooooooo yea
If you bought it with a debit/credit card then that can be used as evidence.Well then, it's pretty fucked. The creators (eMatic) don't want to provide the OS image to fix it (fucking why), and in order to get it replaced, I need proof of purchase, which I don't have.
I didn't buy it.If you bought it with a debit/credit card then that can be used as evidence.
I recently got an Android tablet (An eMatic EGD213-BL) from a family member
noNew solution, buy that exact tablet and return the defective unit in it's place.
