i want to buy a mp3 player over xmas. i was thinking of getting the creative zen 16GB. but i just found out it does not give the option of sorting music by folder structure. (i hate editing tags.)

could anyone please tell me player names that do sort by folder structure?
or any other good players i should be looking at?

I would definitely recommend the Sansa Clip but that does not do folder structuring (although someone made a script on the SanDisk forum which makes playlists based on folder structure or something like that).

God, don't let tropicana see this thread!

Not to change your mind, or anything, but the Insignia Pilot is pretty good. It's like a Sansa but has bluetooth, full sized SDHC slot, and two headphone jacks for sharing music (one doubles as a line in). I'm not sure about the file structure sorting, though, lol, so if that's what you value, don't pay any attention to this.

That's pretty amazing - an SDHC slot and two headphone ports?! If only the Clip had that...

And yeah nin10do, the Clip goes up to 8gb now and I really want one!! I only have 2gb at the moe and it just isn't enough!

ok now you guys are just naming random expensive palyers.

first of all it's gotta be affordable which means under 50£.

secondly it's gotta be portable. why not just carry my laptop with me while jogging instead of the 605.

i am still looking around and probably won't make my final choice for another few days.
right now the sansa clip is looking really good. i may invest in an ipod or shuffle if i can figure how to use it with the itunes software.
(itunes sotware = evil)

Cowon S9

Also, instead of a 605, an Archos 5 is better, imo.

Also,
Sansa Clip
Sansa Fuze
Cowon D2
Sony NWZ series

Get my recommendation.
Wait, what? They released the S9?

Oh, and just grab a Sansa Clip if you want a cheap MP3 player to use while jogging.

You could always use winamp ipod plugin to manage your ipod. I haven't touched itunes in a long time now - I hated it.

Well, just go with the clip. It's million times better than a Shuffle, no contest.

It even has rockbox nearly complete for it, so there's no reason not to get one.
