thanks for the replies. i have never used bannerbomb before and i have not done any wii's for about 8 months. i try to keep up with the way things are moving but it's hard as i do not own one myself. i was going to instal homebrew channel then do safe firmware update to 4.2 then use pimp my wii to sort the rest. would this be ok or does anyone have any better ways to go. i just want minimum fuss. thanks again....................sudeki300

Hey guys. I've been out of the hacking scene for awhile, just updated from 3.2E to 4.2E to play the new rock band. I have a hardmod (original wiikey) and now I'm getting error #001 on rock band (haven't tested any other disks yet) do I have to do something else to avoid this? I'd prefer to keep using the hardmod as I don't own an external HDD.

hi when i am trying to do this eg:

Update to 4.2
Run Multi-Mod Manager 13.3 from the Homebrew Channel.
*Really important stuff here! Do not skip or alter steps in any way!*
While on the main menu, press right to go to WAD manager then press 1.
You should see IOS70-64-v6687.wad and System Menu-NUS-v48x.wad (NTSC-J = 480; NTSC = 481; PAL = 482).
Press A to install. Then press any button when finished.
Now go down to Other and press A. Then press 1.
It should say Selected 28 for installation.. press A to install.
*End.*

i get a error of 1035 on 6 wads

ios41-64-3607
ios45-64-3607
ios48-64-4124
ios43-64-3607
ios46-64-3607
ios58-64-6176

any help please thankyou

i installed hombrew channel on a PAL 3.1E wii last night using bannerbomb. but when i try to update the firmware using "safe updater" or "pimp my wii" a screen comes up with columns of numbers and text and i have to turn the wii off and start again. there is something wrong as the safe updater first stopped and said it was not recommened to go on. so i uninstalled the homebrew channel just to be asfe. so i was thinking if i reinstall the homebrew channel and then update the firmware from a backup to 4.2E then reinstall the hombrew channel everything else after. as i am at work at the moment i cannot tell you what the text said on the screen with the numbers. but if anyone could help that would be great........................sudeki300

"safe updater" and "pimp my wii" have nothing to do with gbatemp's stickied guides. If you use pimp my wii or safe updater, you shouldn't post your problems in an unrelated thread, like this one. And FYI, a lot of people run into problems with pimp my wii and safe updater, and I don't think anyone has ever bricked their Wii's using one of gbatemp's stickied guides.

So I recommend u follow the one of the stickied guides (either this thread or the ModMii thread)... but don't use a different method and then come ask for help in the stickied guide threads.

I have a brand new black virgin wii.

I just followed this guide and I can launch homebrew apps, but none of my homebrew apps can see my usb hard drive.

I have tried multiple usb drives (and none of them work).

I have an older white wii, which I hacked awhile ago and its apps CAN see my usb hard drive.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Below is a sysCheck report that I ran on my black wii.

This guide work great on my 4.2U Black Wii I just bought
biggrin.gif

I haven't got around to trying anything with USB yet, my question is:

Do I need to run IOS58 installer after using this guide, or is that all taken care of after following the instructions ?

Thanks again

check the /wad directory on your SD card, i'm quite sure ios58-v6175.wad should be there and should be installed by following the guide. the latest version of ios58 is v6176, which you can obtain using NUSD.

Hi there, I have a Wii with 3.2E and someone had already installed Homebrew Channel on it. And not, I am trying to update it to 4.2E. However, when launching the bannerbomb, I get the following message:

"Hackmii installer cannot continue...There is no known vulnerable ISO installed on this wii...Please note that we will not use a fakesigned iso due to security reason,if this is already the latest version, well suck it"

I was wondering if I should either way load MMM and install the wads or not, haven´t tried that yet cause I´m not sure of the consenquences yet.

Thx. for your help.
